The Nursing faculty members have adopted a curriculum plan that integrates the Honors College courses and the BSN degree-plan requirements.听Highly motivated freshmen who are admitted into 91影视’s Honors College and who are interested in nursing may apply to the Nursing honors BSN program through joint admission into the Honors College and the Linda Dunham School of Nursing. Through this admission, freshman Honors College students are preapproved by, and receive provisional admission to, the Bachelor of Science Nursing honors program from the dean of School of Nursing.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Honors program at 91影视 stands among the premier nursing schools in 91影视, TX, offering a comprehensive curriculum that interweaves rigorous academic preparation with hands-on clinical experience. This distinguished program holds full approval from the Texas Board of Nursing, ensuring students receive an education that meets the highest professional standards.

Nursing Honors College Requirements

Each semester, nursing honors students must pass their nursing courses and remain full-time in the Honors College in order to remain in the joint admission program. Students can receive full admission into the BSN program in their third 听year after successfully completing all of the Linda Dunham School of Nursing criteria including criminal background check clearance from the Texas Board of Nursing. Students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA in order to continue their courses in the Honors College. This GPA requirement also stands for official admission into the nursing program as well as an acceptable score on the TEAS exam.

Students who are interested in the joint admission program should begin the admissions process by completing听the Honors College application. After听an applicant successfully interviews with the director of the Honors College, his or her听application will be reviewed by the听dean of the Linda Dunham School of Nursing, and a decision about the application will be made jointly by the director and the dean.
