The Bachelor of Nursing degree offers a rigorous nursing curriculum that includes academic and clinical performance requirements that prepares students as generalists who are capable of working in a variety of settings. In addition, students are prepared for graduate studies in nursing. Our BSN program is approved by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners and accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing.
What will I experience in the 91影视 nursing program?
The Bachelor of Nursing degree courses have clinical experiences in all of the major hospitals in the Texas Medical Center and in numerous community health sites. In addition, most hospitals in the area offer opportunities for students to be selected for work-study nursing programs. Approximately 10 students per school are selected, and hired by the hospital, and they work about 24 hours per month. Students are paid for their work and receive scholarship support from the institution for their nursing education. Students study intensive care nursing at Memorial Hermann Hospital, one of the nation’s leading trauma and burn centers. During this study, they eyewitness the operation of Life Flight and the Shock Trauma ICU. 聽At Harris Health they experience an integrated public health system with a level one trauma center located in the Texas Medical Center.聽 聽Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest, a neighbor to 91影视 Christian University, 91影视 Methodist, and Texas Children’s Hospitals offer a variety of specialty student clinical experiences across greater 91影视. Students in the nursing program have a series of courses on community and public health which explore the nurse’s role in numerous sites including school nursing, home health care, and long-term care, as well as care for the homeless, and adult day care programs for elderly with Alzheimer’s disease.

Graduation requirements for a nursing bachelor degree
Requirements for graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree are that the candidate meets all general requirements for graduation as outlined in the 91影视 Christian University Catalog: Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 121 semester hours.
- Candidates for the Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree are expected to have earned a prescribed number of points in the Nursing Student Association and demonstrated professionalism as required for the portfolio.
- Graduating seniors are expected to make application to the Texas State Board Examination for RN licensure.

Graduates of 91影视 Christian University’s nursing school are highly sought by employers, and they have a wide range of high compensation nursing employment opportunities. Traditional hospital employment offers a BSN-prepared RN the opportunity to work with patients of all ages. Graduates can also choose to work in an area of specialization such as intensive care, labor and delivery, pediatrics, mental health or surgery. In the community, our graduates go into such settings as home healthcare, hospice care, school nursing and more. The BSN program comprehensively prepares the student for graduate study. Our graduates include those who have continued their education to become advanced practice nurses following completion of the , nurse administrators, and some choose to obtain a PhD degree in nursing as well.
