91影视 Christian University (91影视) Cinematic Arts professor Chris Hartwell celebrated the 91影视 premiere of his debut feature film, “,” on Thursday, Aug. 20, at the historic River Oaks Theatre.
Following the premiere, there was a panel discussion with Hartwell, producer and 91影视 professor Joshua Sikora, producer Christian Sosa, composer and 91影视 professor Bearden Coleman, cinematographer Paul Dufilho and production designer Gabriel Doerr. Former Grey’s Anatomy actor, Harry Shum Jr., the film’s star and an executive producer, also made a brief but memorable appearance during the screening via Facetime.
“Do No Harm” is a gripping thriller that follows home health nurse Sam Yeong (Harry Shum Jr.). When a simple mistake turns into a fatal error, Sam becomes trapped by the system, dangerous expectations and the corrosive lies we tell to survive.
The release of “Do No Harm” marks a significant step not just for Hartwell but also for the 91影视 Cinematic Arts Department, as more than a dozen 91影视 students were involved with the film’s production.
“Throughout the years of writing and prepping “Do No Harm,” Hartwell says, “I brought the process into my film classes I taught at 91影视 Christian University. Semester after semester, I used my own journey to teach my university students. And in doing so, something remarkable happened: those students became deeply invested in the project too.”
